Basic Hair Rig with Tubing

While a hair rig consisting of a hook and a knotless knot alone has caught countless fish and will continue to do so, a simple way to increase your hook up ratio is to add some silicone tube. There are a few different ways to do this but the general idea is the same, some on the shank for the hook and some over the eye of the hook.

Slide the piece if tubing up to near the bait and then put the hook through it avoiding nicking the hook link on the point.

Put the line through the eye of the hook so that it exits the eye on the same side as the point of the hook and tie a knotless knot.

Add a split shot or some putty about an inch below and you will have a rig that will sit in the water like this in the water.

So there you have it, a basic hair rig tied up with tubing. Not hard to do and will certainly help to get you more hook ups.
