Lonestarcarpers Simple Carp Fly

It’s funny when I read stuff about carp fishing with a fly rod on these internetwebs, every becomes obsessed with what fly to use…that is the least of your concerns when you decide to chase carp with some lashed feathers and fur, that said here is a simple fly to tie that has caught me countless fish…

  1. Size 8 hook lead wrapped
  2. These are the dubbings that I use. The important thing is to get one with some flash and mixed it up with a dull buggy one.
  3. These are cheap goose pioget (or how ever you spell it).
  4. I then attach some flash, I am using christmas tinsel.
  5. Not to much my be 5 or 6 strands just enough to catch sunlight and flash.
  6. Then make your loop and mix and spin the dubbing.
  7. Before you wrap tie some silicon legs in.
  8. From here just wrap the dubbing, then wrap the legs where they point backwards trim them to the length of the bend in the hook and finish with a thread shaped cone head and finish with high gloss finger nail hardener
  9. And you’re done, a quick and easy carp fly.
